Soul Replaced

This is the painting that has sent me down my current thematic wormhole. It inspired me to continue with metallic-animal subjects and I do believe it is a very strong opener to my work. A barn owl hovers, petrified by this snapshot. Its outstretched wings end in sharp metal points where feathers should be. The tail meets the same end. Even the brain has been removed and replaced with metallic infrastructure. It swoops through a dark grey background, doomed to remain here forever. Scroll to see the full piece.
